Tutorial Description:

The aim of the Grid Administrator Tutorial is to train system administrators in preparation for deploying and operating an EGEE Grid resource center. The course is designed to help students quickly learn important Grid concepts and gain practical Grid deployment skills....

The tutorial begins by introducing students to the overall architecture of the Grid, followed by more detail presentations on the primary Grid components such as Grid Security, Information System, Work Load Management and Data Management.

Presentations providing practical information on operating and maintaining a Grid resource center will also be given. The first talk in this series introduces students to the management aspects of Grid Operations and how each site will be integrated to the infrastructure. The second talk will focus more on the technical aspects of administrating and troubleshooting a Grid resource center.

The last presentation will give students a broad overview on Grid applications and how research communities can take advantage of this infrastructure.

Finally, the workshop will provide "hands-on" sessions that will give students the opportunity to install and configure a fully functional Grid site. These sessions will also show students how to test a site's functionality and introduce them to troubleshooting strategies.

Please notice that the intended audiences are asked to bring their own laptops.

The laptop can be any OS but need to have a wireless card for Internet access. For windows laptops, you should install a ssh client software which can be found at:
